Carl-Harry Stålhane for Designhuset Vintage Swedish Pottery Jug / Vase – 1970s/80s

A beautiful piece of Swedish studio pottery by renowned ceramicist Carl-Harry Stålhane, created during his later period at Designhuset, the independent studio workshop he founded in Lidköping, Sweden in 1973.

The jug has a generous rounded form with a large curved handle and pouring lip, finished in a warm oatmeal glaze. Hand-incised linear and geometric detailing decorates the body, with the darker clay showing through to create contrast and texture.

The base is signed CHS alongside the distinctive incised geometric Designhuset studio mark. This marking is associated with Stålhane’s independent work following his earlier and highly celebrated career at Rörstrand, and dates the piece to his later studio production of the 1970s/80s.

A collectable piece of Swedish ceramic design that works beautifully as a vase or simply displayed as an object in its own right.
