Lifestyle-Led Design
This project is all about lifestyle. A generous open-plan space designed for connection, with clearly defined zones that each serve a purpose without disrupting the flow.
A large extension and full redesign gave us a true blank canvas — space, freedom and the opportunity to really push the design while keeping it grounded in how our clients live day to day. The home is shaped entirely around them: calm, effortless and beautiful at its core, layered with graphic moments that add personality and edge. Soft doesn’t have to mean safe.
A neutral palette sets the foundation, brought to life through texture and detail. The kitchen features warm wood grain elements, while the island becomes a focal point with its striking tiled front. The island stools were chosen for their pop of red, and yes, they swivel, adding a playful touch to the space.
We chose to leave some of the supporting steel beams exposed, finished in a warm pink. These introduce character and subtle colour while helping to zone and frame the open-plan layout.
Dining Space
The bespoke banquette was designed by BO to anchor the space — generous, comfortable and made for long, loud, stay-too-late dinners. The kind of seat that holds the room and the people in it.
The dining table is a contemporary design that we coupled with vintage iconic Cesca chairs. A large graphic artwork with earthy colours with a splash of peach ties the scheme together and adds a punch of cool.
Kitchen
The kitchen is anchored by a generous island, wrapped seamlessly in the worktop to create a clean, uninterrupted profile. The front of the island becomes the hero moment — finished with striking tiles, laid with intention to form a strong, graphic focal point within the space.
The island stools introduce a confident pop of red (and yes, they swivel), bringing energy and a sense of play to the otherwise calm palette. Above, the pendant light feels almost weightless, elegantly suspended and adding softness without visual clutter.
Along the back run, a continuous shelf stretches confidently across the window line. This strong horizontal detail was designed to feel deliberate and architectural — never an afterthought — while also providing a layer for styling and warmth. The tone of the kitchen units was carefully selected to sit quietly in the background, allowing the island tiles and details to take centre stage.
Coffee Nook
Creating moments of joy within an open-plan space was key to this home. Little pockets that don’t just look beautiful, but genuinely elevate everyday living.
This coffee nook was designed as one of those moments — a pause within the sleek kitchen, where form meets ritual. Visually considered yet deeply lifestyle-led, it is a space that invites you to slow down, set the tone for the day, and enjoy a small, mood-lifting routine that feels intentional and personal.
‘An indulgent luxury moment in your everyday life’.
Lighting
Lighting is layered throughout to create flexibility and atmosphere. Dimmable LEDs are concealed within the shelving, allowing a soft, ambient glow to wash the walls in the evening and shift the mood as the day moves on.
Lounge Area
This lounge sits within a gently recessed part of the extension, giving it a sense of purpose and calm while still feeling open to the rest of the home. The setback allowed us to introduce a side window, softening the architecture with natural light and creating a beautifully framed view of the garden — a view that becomes part of the room and draws you in when you sit back and relax.
A bespoke cabinet runs the full width of the TV wall, grounding the space and giving it a strong, contemporary presence. Integrated open shelving adds warmth and personality, providing space for books and carefully curated pieces that bring the room to life. Discreet hidden spotlights are tucked into the design, offering a soft, atmospheric glow in the evenings and enhancing the relaxed mood of the space.
The generous L-shaped sofa anchors the room and clearly defines the lounge as a destination for switching off. Whether the TV is on or off, this area feels considered, comfortable and visually engaging — a space designed as much for slowing down as it is for everyday living.
The Microcement floor offers a seamless beautiful textured look through the open plan space.
