A Contemporary Home Reimagined

House of Bo was brought into this major renovation at a pivotal moment — the final stage of paint and colour decisions had taken the wrong turn, leaving the homeowner unsure of the next steps. What began as a colour-rescue quickly evolved into a full interior re-design, with House of Bo developing a complete scheme and sourcing everything needed to transform the property into a contemporary, clean and beautifully refined home.

From the outset, it was clear the open-plan kitchen and dining space needed more warmth, depth and architectural character. We introduced walnut wall cladding with integrated lighting, adding texture and balance while perfectly grounding the TV within the space. The fireplace was reworked with subtle but impactful refinements, and bespoke cabinetry and shelving were designed for both the living room and the upstairs office/snug.

Lighting was addressed throughout, ensuring every room had the right ambience and functionality. We sourced three sofas, layered rugs, chairs, lighting and all decorative elements to craft a cohesive, considered flow. Artwork played a defining role too, setting the tone and expressing the client’s personality. Upon entering the home, guests are greeted by an XL Kevin Couliau basketball-court print — an iconic bold introduction setting the scene. In the living room, a bespoke artwork by Luke Crump thoughtfully weaves together the owner’s interests, places and people. The longer you look, the more stories reveal themselves.

To complete the transformation, House of Bo styled the entire home — adding pots and plants, positioning curated décor, and carefully placing artwork to achieve the final, polished look. Every object and detail was chosen not just for beauty, but to reflect the owner’s personality and daily life.

This home is more than a project; it is a backdrop for living — a space where individuality, comfort and contemporary elegance come together in perfect balance.

The only regret I have of using Jen and Stephane is not involving them in my project sooner. I found them after a major renovation of my property but was totally lost on my next steps after a terrible decision on the paint colour of the interior walls (Parmesan yellow - yeah, I know…).

They gave me the truth and tough love I needed to hear at the time. Rather than trying to pair furniture with yellow walls I was advised to repaint and start from there. This led to the most amazing journey with them, they’ve personalised the property for me into a space I always want to be in. They’ve pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged the way I look at everything from function of furniture to design.

Jen and Stephane have such a passion for what they do, they really do love their work and the value for money and ROI have been insanely good for me.

They’ve gone out of their way to secure discounts with suppliers that never would have got on my own. This alone paid for a large proportion of their fee. The balance of the cost has more than paid for itself in not just the value added to the property from their work, but most crucially for me, the difference they’ve made to my happiness of living here - that’s impossible to put a price on.

Jen and Stephane, thank you again for your hard work, I would recommend you to anyone looking for interior design help - with love and best wishes, Laurence
